Graphic instructions

Regardless of the blogging platform you use, you’ll need to save the graphic to your computer, first. We’ve posted it here to make it easy for you.

To save it
  • Right click on the graphic—a menu will appear. 
  • Depending on the browser you’re using, select the choice from the menu that says something like “Save Image As,” and save it to your hard drive
  • Remember where you saved it.
Below are some directions or links with directions for posting the graphic to blogs created with three popular blogging platforms--Typepad, Wordpress, and Blogger, as well as how to post a wish on Facebook with a link to us and our graphic attached for the post.

Typepad

Blogger

To post it to your sidebar:
  • Click “Customize” (toward the top right of your screen)
  • Then click “Add Gadget”
  • Click to Add a Picture
  • Fill in the Title, Caption, Link (http://www.31daysofselfcare.com)
  • Click “Browse”.
  • Find, then choose, the image on your computer.
  • Once done, click “Save”
You can move the graphic up or down in your sidebar till it's where you want it to be.


Wordpress

  • Go to your Wordpress dashboard
  • In the left menu, under "Media" choose "Add New"
  • Choose "Select Files"
  • Find the graphic where you saved it in your computer
  • Choose "Open"
  • When the file is uploaded, Highlight the File URL, right click and choose "Copy", then choose "save all changes"
  • Scroll down and under "appearance" in the left menu, choose "Widgets"
  • Next to the "Image" widget, choose "add"
  • For "Image URL" right click and choose "Paste"
  • For link URL (when the image is clicked) put in
  • Choose your sidebar location and position (if you have a choice, this varies by theme)
  • Choose Save Widget.
Go look at your blog!

If you want to change the placement, you can go back into Widgets and edit it.

Some of this may vary a little by theme.


Post about self care on Facebook


If your wish is short, the easiest thing to do is publish it as a Status Update.
  • Write your update
  • Click the icon for "Link"
  • Type in our URL: http://www.31daysofselfcare.com
  • You'll see at least one thumbnail graphic appear. Scroll through them till you find the 31DoSC graphic.
  • Then click "Attach."
  • Click "Share."
If you need to write about your wish in greater depth, you'll want to write a Note. To do that:
  • Click the "Notes" tab if you have one. Otherwise, in the search box at the top right of your screen, type "Notes" and you'll be taken to Notes
  • Click "Write a new Note"
  • Fill in the blanks to create your Note.
  • Put our URL in your Note so people can find us and play along
  • Add our graphic by clicking Browse, and selecting the graphic you saved.
  • Click "Publish"
